A budget-friendly mobile Redmi 12 has been officially unveiled in Thailand. The smartphone comes after being mistakenly listed on the Xiaomi Portugal website. The Redmi 12 was taken down immediately from the official website, but specifications and design leaked worldwide. The Redmi mobile 12 is the latest addition to the Redmi series with a stylish design appeals to Smartphone users looking for a budget-friendly mobile with a lower price tag.

Xiaomi mobile brings the full HD Plus IPS LCD type panel with 90Hz of ultra-smooth refresh rate. The smartphone has a 6.79-inch LCD with an HD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. With 550 nits peak brightness, it houses the front camera with a punch-hole cutout design. The mobile fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button.
Xiaomi’s new mobile 12 features the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC chipset with an octa-core CPU. Regarding the phone’s HD graphics, it covers up with Mali G52 GPU. And the phone’s operating system runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
Storage-wise, it packs two configurations; 4GB RAM with 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM with 256GB ROM. The device’s internal storage can increase to 1TB with a microSD card.
As far as the camera department is concerned, it comes with three rear cameras and one front camera. The triple rear setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Similarly, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
In terms of battery, Xiaomi phone Redmi 12 offers a 5000 mAh battery unit which supports 18W fast charging. Regarding the connectivity options, it carries 4G LTE, USB Type C, Wifi, NFC and Bluetooth.
It comes in multiple Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Polar Silver colors. The price set for the 8GB variant is $153.
